I have found this to be a great paddle. It does a lot of the work for you the way it is designed. It doesn't take much to get the ball back over the net. It does take a little bit of getting used to as you have to soften up your shot a little bit since the paddle does a good bit of the work. It provides good power for a drive shot, great for blocking drive shots, yet still gives you control for the short game.

SuperNova Pro - Black Diamond Series
Winner of 3 US Open Gold Medals! This stunning paddle includes all the best, highly sought after qualities coveted by advanced and professional players. From its beautiful, 100% carbon fiber surface - perfect for finesse shots and enhanced spin, to the durable QuadCore™ polymer, honeycomb core - resulting in longer life and an ton of power – the SuperNova is set to be a dominating tool that will enhance play skills on any pickleball court.
SuperNovas are defined as a star that explodes and becomes extremely luminous in the process, Even more compelling, scientists theorize that Black Diamonds (found in Brazil) originated in space from the debris of a supernova. This paddle is a beautiful and rare find among the common paddles in today's market.
The SuperNova Pro paddle was designed to enhance ball control and power through alterations to its weight and balance. The goal was to keep a similar feel to a tennis racquet and make the grip longer for a two-handed backhand. But there’s more to this new paddle than just a longer handle.
Perfect for tennis players transitioning to pickleball, the SuperNova is slightly heavier than the average pickleball paddle and balanced similarly to a tennis racquet. Made of the same material as the Titan Pro, the SuperNova’s playability is scientifically proven. The one-of-a-kind, carbon fiber paddle face “grabs” the ball, despite its glossy smooth surface. Heat, direction of the fibers, pressure, velocity and impact all affect ball control resulting in a superior user experience.

Love this paddle. I learned on a Selkirk and really had my heart set on another one. The Selkirk paddle I was using was discontinued when a friend let me use the Pro lite. The sweet spot the control I had was amazing. It is heavier then I'm used to but really it has not been an issue at all. People care coming up to me asking about this paddle. Totally #10 for me! And adding the sweat grip!!! Perfect!
I recently purchased the Supernova and am very pleased with both the power and control of the paddle. The paddle really grips the ball nicely allowing you to apply a good deal of topspin. I do wish the paddle had a little less width and a little longer handle but these are just personal preferences of mine. I recommend the paddle for advanced players (4.0+).
Bought my first Prolite Paddle last January. Love the Super Nova’s. I have bought several and my friends have bought them from me, sometimes before I even use them. I am not that good of a player but this paddle really helped my control.
Love this paddle. My defensive game has improved because it feels like the paddle absorbed some of the hard shots during a volley. It's quick at the net, though because of it's size maybe not as quick as smaller, lighter weight paddles. Great for ground strokes too. I like the thin grip as I have small hands. Overall, I HAVE recommended this paddle.
I like this paddle quite a bit. I was looking for a paddle to replace my old Pro-Lite Power paddle and this was recommended to me. My Power paddle had a slightly smaller paddle face and longer handle which I prefer. However, this paddle is comparable. It has the striking power to hit hard shots and also has a good touch at the net for the soft shots. All around good paddle.
My 1st experience with ProLite. Good customer focus. Really appreciated your Reps. perspective (MUD). Love the nickname! She guided me towards the Super Nova based on my style of game. I like the padal. Took some getting use to, but more comfort each day of play. Holds pace, and maintains control shots. I would enjoy it to be heavier. I'm use to 8.5 oz. and this is 8.2 oz. Great Grip!! All in all very pleased.
Pro-Lites' Customer Service is awesome! Service is what makes a company great. On rare occasions there can be an issue with any product and customer service either saves the day or crashes the deal. No matter the circumstances...at the end of the day it's people that make the difference. Thanks Terry. You are the best!
I was using an Encore Pro and thought it was the best until I demo'ed a Supernova. Here's where my game took-off. My dinks stayed lower to the net, better overall control, better percentage of kills hitting ball just over net at the kitchen, easier racket adjustments. Only thing I miss is the better spin on serve using the textured Encore. But this one item is not enough to prevent totally praising this paddle!
This paddle is heavier than my previous paddle, allowing me to swing softer and hit a hard shot. I am enjoying the solid feel and increased control that I get from it. I highly recommend this paddle.
